Use cases / Welcome new customers
Greet every new customer personally
The situation
Someone signs up, makes their first purchase, or visits you for the first time - and then? Usually, silence. In the daily grind, there's simply no time to greet every new contact personally, and so the very moment when interest is at its peak goes to waste. The new customer forgets you before a relationship can even begin.
How SmartChat solves it
SmartChat welcomes every new contact automatically on WhatsApp the moment they sign up - warmly, by first name, and without you having to think about it. You set up the greeting once, ideally with a small welcome gift, and from the Basic plan up, the flow runs on its own as an automation. An anonymous sign-up turns into a relationship from the very first moment.
Set up in 3 steps
- 1
Write a greeting that sounds like you - warm, short, and ideally with a small welcome gift as an icebreaker.
- 2
Save it as an automatic message that goes out to every new contact right after they sign up.
- 3
If you like, add more messages a few days apart that guide new customers along step by step.

FAQs
Do I have to send every greeting myself?
No, the welcome message runs on its own as an automation. Automations are included from the Basic plan up - set it up once, and SmartChat takes over from there.
Where do the new contacts come from?
Interested people sign up on their own through your sign-up page and confirm via double opt-in. That makes every contact GDPR-compliant and genuinely opted in.
What goes into a good welcome message?
A warm greeting with their first name, a sentence about what to expect from you, and ideally a small welcome gift - that opens the door for everything that follows.
How many new contacts can I welcome this way?
As many as you like - with SmartChat, contacts are unlimited on every plan, so your greeting automatically reaches every single newcomer.
