Use cases / Fill open tables

Your empty table finds new guests

The situation

Saturday, 5 p.m., the phone rings: the party of six for 8 p.m. is canceling. On your busiest night, there's now an empty table in a packed restaurant - and you have almost no chance of filling it. There's no one you can call, walk-ins won't cover it, and that evening's revenue is simply gone.

How SmartChat solves it

With SmartChat, you turn the cancellation into an opportunity: a quick WhatsApp message to your contacts announces the table that just opened up - and with a 98% open rate, they see the offer immediately. Spontaneous guests love moments like this, and the first one to reply gets the spot. What would have been lost revenue becomes a full table.

Set up in 3 steps

  1. 1

As soon as a cancellation comes in, write a short message with the time, the party size, and one charming extra.

  2. 2

Send it to your contacts - whoever replies first gets the table, and you politely offer everyone else a rain check.

  3. 3

Confirm the reservation with the fastest guest right in the chat and mark the table as booked again.

FAQs

What if several guests reply at the same time?

The fastest one gets the table; you thank the others briefly and warmly - and many of them will book a different night on the spot. One cancellation turns into a double win.

How fast can a message like this go out?

In a few minutes: type the message, pick your contacts, hit send. Since WhatsApp messages are read almost immediately, the first replies often come back very quickly.

Does this work on weeknights too?

Especially then: a spontaneous offer on a Tuesday night reaches exactly the guests who wouldn't have come without a reason - and fills evenings that would otherwise stay quiet.

Do I need a specific plan for this?

Sending to your contacts is included in every SmartChat plan, and plans start at 299 euros. Meta bills the WhatsApp fees directly, with no markup from SmartChat.
