Use cases / Contract expiry reminders

No contract expires unnoticed

The situation

Your Excel sheet holds dozens of contracts with expiry dates, and every single one is an open window for the competition. If you don't reach out in time, the comparison site will - and the client you've looked after for ten years signs somewhere else without you ever getting a chance at the conversation.

How SmartChat solves it

SmartChat reminds your clients via WhatsApp before a contract expires - personally, with their first name and the exact date. On the Basic plan and up, you turn this into an automation: you only maintain the expiry date, and the message goes out on its own at just the right time. That way, you're always the first one in the renewal conversation.

Set up in 3 steps

  1. 1

Record the expiry dates: store the contract end date with each contact - enter it once and SmartChat never forgets a single date again.

  2. 2

Set up the reminder: decide how many weeks before expiry the message goes out - on the Basic plan and up, this runs fully automatically.

  3. 3

Have the conversation: your client replies right in the chat and you sort out the renewal before a comparison site ever enters the picture.

FAQs

How many contract expiry dates can I store?

As many as you want - contacts are unlimited with SmartChat, whether you manage 50 or 5,000 contracts. The volume doesn't change what you pay.

Do I have to send every reminder by hand?

No. On the Basic plan and up, you set up an automation: you maintain the expiry date, and SmartChat sends the reminder at the right time on its own.

Is this legally compliant?

Yes - your clients confirm their sign-up via double opt-in, so every message is documented for GDPR compliance. They can unsubscribe anytime, right in the chat.

Why WhatsApp and not just a letter?

A letter costs postage and often lands unopened in the recycling bin. A WhatsApp message gets read with a 98% open rate - and your client replies with two taps instead of stationery.
